The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline has drawn the support of hundreds of tribes, and environmental and social justice activists from around the world. Their almost year-long encampment on the banks of the Cannonball River offers lessons for local “Water Protectors” concerned the about our Great Lakes and inland waters. North Central instructor and LTBB tribal member, Fred Harrington, will moderate a panel of area activists who have travelled to Standing Rock, including Stephen Brede, Ellis Boal and LuAnne Kozma.Date and Time
