Harbor History Talk - Nub's Nob
The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society hits the slopes at their next Harbor History Talk on Thursday, February 16, 2017 with Jim Bartlett , president and general manager of Nub’s Nob. Bartlett’s presentation, which begins at 5:30 pm, will explore the history of Nub’s Nob as they prepare to celebrate their 60th season in 2018. Nub’s Nob began to take shape when Nub and Dorie Sarns first glimpsed the site in 1957. When the resort opened in 1958 there were only three slopes and one double chair lift. Since then, Nub’s Nob has become one of northern Michigan’s premier ski areas. Jim Bartlett has been a part of the Nub’s Nob story for 40 years, and the Historical Society is thrilled to welcome him to share his story. Bartlett’s talk will take place at 5:30 pm on the second floor of the Harbor Springs History Museum and refreshments will be provided. Admission is $5 for adults and free for current Historical Society members. Due to limited seating at the museum, reservations to attend this talk are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling (231) 526-9771.
