Event Description:
March Sledding Night at Kiwanis Park - Saturday, March 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is a free family party that includes sledding, a pizza party, crafts and games. This year’s games are all new and include Dizzy Mummy, Junk in the Trunk, Mouth to Mouth, Defying Gravity, Pink Elephant and Bingo. Participants will have a chance to make Mason Jar Terrariums, Fish Wind Chimes, DIY Garden Lights and Sparkle Ball Lights. Some of these crafts could be messy. Participants are asked to wear older clothing that can get dirty. Participants interested in sledding need to bring their own sleds.

    On display in CTAC-Petoskey’s Gilbert Gallery, “Tinker, Tailor, Welder, Weaver: The Art of Assemblage” includes two and three dimensional works of assemblage and collage created by eight Michigan artists, including: Dewey Blocksma, Indy Bacon, Stephen Palmer, Mary Beth Acosta, Beth Bynum Donna Collins, Cherie Correll, and Brian Schorn. Although all of the artists employ found objects and materials, their aesthetic strategies and forms range from formal to whimsical, figurative to non-objective.
