The Story Behind the Glass: The Historic Restoration of St. Francis Xavier's Emil Frei Windows

Join St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Monday, August 31, from 6–8 p.m. for The Story Behind the Glass, a special presentation and private church tour featuring Richard E. Hanley, founder and master artist of the architectural stained glass studio, Omnibus Studios.

Beginning in the Parish Hall, 513 Howard St, Richard E. will share the remarkable story of the world-class Emil Frei stained glass windows at St. Francis Xavier and the historic restoration project that began in early 2023. Guests will learn about the craftsmanship, challenges, and significance of preserving these architectural treasures, followed by a private tour of the church to experience the restored windows firsthand.

Presented by the team leading the restoration at Omnibus Studios, this free event offers a unique opportunity to explore Petoskey's history, art, and faith heritage. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.

No RSVP is required. All are welcome.
