SUMMARY: The Patient Access Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and oversight of Scheduling, Registration, and Insurance Verification functions of the LTBB Health Department, including Crooked Tree Wellness Clinic. This position will ensure a consistent approach across departments and specialties, focusing on gathering accurate patient data to support clinical operations and revenue collection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: In addition to KSAs: Associate's degree required. Certified Medical Biller (CMB) credential or Medical Billing certificate from an accredited college required. Minimum of 2 years' experience in patient registration, scheduling, or insurance verification required. Minimum of 3 years' direct customer service experience required. Minimum of 1 year of experience using Epic EMR required. Experience working with tribal communities preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have working knowledge of Epic Cadence and Epic Prelude. Must be able to create and uphold workflows across a variety of staff with a variety of skills. Must have proficiency in Medical Billing to successfully collaborate with and support established revenue cycle processes. Must have advanced knowledge of insurance verification workflows, sequencing, and registration-based payer denials. Must be able to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in the pursuit of shared goals. Must be able to do word processing in Microsoft Word. Must be able to do data entry into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Must be able to manage email and calendar in Microsoft Outlook. Must be able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute. Must be able to verbally communicate in a clear and confident manner, in person and on the phone, with patients and co-workers. Must be able to compose a simple business letter, memo and fax cover sheet. Must be able to work in stressful situations while maintaining professional composure. Must be friendly and personable, and able to accept constructive feedback and have a positive working attitude. Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced, busy, working environment. Must be able to work as part of a team in delivery of Health Department goals. Must be willing to travel to complete training including air travel and several consecutive overnights. Be dependable; able to follow work schedule and follow work rules. Conducts behavior in a manner that is professional and courteous to all patients and staff at all times.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and be insurable for duration of employment.
COMMENTS: Indian preference will apply (Preference will be given to qualified Native American applicants in accordance with the LTBB Indian Preference Statute). Individuals must pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal and employment. Individual must have a positive job history with former employers, including LTBB. Individual must take TB test and get influenza vaccination annually due to working in a health setting. LTBB Health Department is a scent free environment.
